Ice-skating in the Baroque Garden
We invite you to ice-skate in a spectacular setting in front of the classical facade of the Orangery in the Botanical Garden. Here, skaters of all ages can practice basic skills as well a pirouettes. Please note that we can only offer ice if it is cold enough outside. To enter, use the gates at Norbyvägen and Thunbergsvägen 6 as the gates towards the castle are locked during winter.

Love Data Week: The temperature of Uppsala – observations since 1722
The unique Uppsala temperature series is one of the worlds best examples of the value of open and accessible data. When Anders Celsius was a grad student in the 1720’s, the Uppsala researchers started conducting daily meteorological measurements, that have continued on until today, and into the future.

Love Data Week: Open data - examples and reflections
Open data can enable cumulative science, new discovery, and critical reanalysis. Increasingly, scientific journals and funders are mandating open data. Challenges exist in relation to data stewardship and protection of sensitive data from humans. This talk will give examples of open data from research on humans and will discuss scientific and ethical principles in relation to these examples.
