Practices and tools for Digital Humanities on the US East Coast
This presentation aims to 1) Showcase tools and practices for supporting data driven research, dissemination in new media, and digital methods in many aspects of research, education and curation, and 2) Provide examples of how Digital Scholarship and research – particularly in the Humanities – has been a significant force in shaping access to information, publishing and informations services at 16 institutions in the USA.
Wolmar Nyberg Åkerström is a project manager at Uppsala University Library who received a travelling scholarship for cultural and professional exchange. In autumn 2016 and early 2018, he visited 11 universities and 5 national library institutions along the US east coast. During the travels he found some practical solutions and inspiring answers to the “why?”, “what?” and “how?” of collaborations and infrastructure at the intersection of information science, research and engineering.
