Ankdagen (The Duck Day) is Uppsala Union of Science and Tecnology Students’ family day that takes place on Sunday 23 April. The Duck Day is meant to entertain children, families and those who still are young at heart.
We arrange activities like face painting, pony horse back riding, mini river rafting, bouncy castle and much, much more. You will also have the opportunity to visit the construction site where all rafters build their rafts for the river rafting at the 30th of April. So that no one should go hungry during the day, there is a smaller sale of food and beverages in the area.
The profit we make during the Duck Day will go directly to the Uppsala University Hospital’s Children’s Fund, which is a unique operation in Uppsala. It is important that the sick kids get to be kids inspite of their sickness. The fund has as it’s assignement to let the kids of Uppsala Akademiska hospital play, get stimulated and experience culture. The fund is active everywhere where the Uppsala University Hospital is treating ill kids. Read more about their work at their website: http://www.akademiskasbarnfond.se/in-english/
