Gender Travels: Feminism, Violence and Male Authority in an Age of Right-Wing Populism

Clare Hemmings is Professor of Feminist Theory at the Department of Gender Studies at the London School of Economics. A leading scholar in European Gender studies, Hemmings has authored numerous articles and books that have been formative for the discipline, and particularly for feminist theory and sexuality studies. Among her books are Bisexual Spaces (2002), Why Stories Matter: The Political Grammar of Feminist Theory (2011) and Considering Emma Goldman: Feminist Politics of Ambivalence and the Historical Imagination (2017). Hemmings uses multiple methodologies and methods to explore how knowledge is produced and how we might make it work for change.
