Now that 75 years have passed since the first use of nuclear weapons, disarmament has again become important to consider. We do this by taking up the thinking and achievements of one of the pioneers in nuclear disarmament, Alva Myrdal.
She was born in Uppsala in 1902, was active in the international negotiations in the 1960s and 1970s and was awarded the Nobel peace prize for her efforts in 1982. She was behind the idea of setting up SIPRI, still a world-leading organization in this field. Her book The Game of Disarmament is a classic. In our conversation we will take up her disarmament strategy as well as the role of women in peace activism in general.
Tickets (service charge included): 200 sek, students under 26 years 70 sek, pensioners 150 sek. Tea and scones included.
